I never intended to write anything but songs, but sometimes life takes you in directions you wouldn’t have expected.
It’s in that spirit that today I’m announcing the launch of my book: No Booker, No Bouncer, No Bartender: How I Made $25K On A 2-Month House Concert Tour (And How You Can Too). It’s my hope in publishing this book that it will help other independent artists grow their own careers and have the kind of rewarding and fulfilling experiences that we’ve had in our house concert adventures over the last couple years.
It cannot go without saying that I owe a huge debt of gratitude to a lot of people without whom this book could never have been written. First on that list is all of you who have either hosted or been a guest at one of the 150+ house concerts we’ve done over the last couple years. You have not only made the last 2 years of touring the most memorable and rewarding time in my professional life, but you’ve also helped me learn and grow and develop the path laid out in this book — a path that makes it possible for independent artists to tour and grow their audiences in a sustainable and incredibly rewarding way.
You may not have known it, but you have been an integral part of an independent art revolution. I am so grateful for you and your participation in all of this with me.
If you know any independent artists who could benefit from this book, please send them to Amazon or Barnes & Noble to purchase the eBook. (Apple iBooks link coming soon.) Also, if you read it and find it helpful or inspiring, will you take a moment to give it a good rating and a rave review at those sites?
Love and unexpected adventures — shannon
