It’s hard to believe it’s that time already: today we start looking for hosts for the 2016 Summer House Concert Tour! Wooo!
If you already know you want to host a show on this summer’s tour, or if you’d like info about hosting one, then waste no time and send me an email right now at firstname.lastname@example.org to request the official 2016 Summer House Concert Host Guide.
Want to learn what this whole house concert thing is all about and what’s required to host a show? Well then, read on, my friend, read on …
This will be the 5th summer in a row that my husband Jamie and I pile our music gear into our VW, drive tens of thousands of miles, stop each night at someone’s house, and put on intimate and unforgettable concert experiences for communities all across North America.
These are the most fun, most connective, most fulfilling shows I’ve ever done – so much so that I’ve essentially stopped performing in traditional music venues altogether. Yes, they’re that special.
What’s required to be a host? If you send me an email about hosting a show, I will send you our 2016 House Concert Host Guide with all the details. But the basic requirements are very simple:
1- A “house”: This could be a living room, a backyard, garage, condo community room, photo/art/dance studio, big house, small house – any space you have access to where your friends can sit, gather, and enjoy a concert.
2- A minimum of 30 adult friends to come: The show will be an exclusive private event for you and your community of friends, neighbors, and family.
And that’s pretty much it. What’s not required: a bunch of money. We do our concerts on a donation basis. It doesn’t have to cost you anything to host a house concert! Send me an email for more details.
We can’t wait to spend another amazing summer with all of you. xo-shannon
